Dear rider or riders' parent,

Time to put pen to paper...

As this championship comes to an end, and what a championship it has been! I know we don't have some fancy name on it. But we do have some very skilful and talented riders in every group that love to battle it out in the dirt. These last two rounds are crucial because it''s anybody's title until the last flag goes down! For my money a lot of you riders are the best in the country.

New season looking very full and exciting with a new 9 round summer championship, a 6 round winter one, the 24 hr longest day (possibly) and hopefully a couple of fun days, alongside this is the usual mid-summer regional team challenge and also a 4 round Youth and Pops event, which should be a lot of fun!

A chance for all to take some glory in 2008!

The youth groups will run the same as this season but each group will be split into two with the top ten riders from this years' overall standings becoming group A and the remainder becoming group B (i.e. 100/125A and 100/125B). This gives every youth rider a much more sporty chance based on their ability.

On top of this we will be promoting 'The Gravity Youth of the Month' from any class. We would like parents to participate in this. The idea is 3 different parents at each event will be asked to select in their unbiased opinion who is worthy of the title, not necessarily the fastest or slowest but some who really enjoy their racing or whatever.

The selected youth will be named at the next meeting when I do my bit of chit chat. The youth will be presented with the Gravity Youth of the Month shirt to wear for that day, along with a special t-shirt, a set of descent goggles and a sticker kit. The Gravity Youth of Month will be sponsored by Keitch ATV's and Dorset Quads. Also a profile of the young'in plus a picture will be sent to the Quad Magazine (I can't guarantee they all will be printed but we do hope so).

I must say a big thank you to Chris at C.J. Keitch Engineering (Keitch ATV's) for being the main sponsor of Gravity for the last two years and for next year too. Chris and his Dunkeswell posse are always in the pits, not just looking after his own girls but generally helping any others with a problem. Cheers Chris it is appreciated!

Talking of helping hands, what a fantastic first aid crew we've got now, these guys are on the case and they certainly know their stuff, and what about the marshals, week in week out there with us. They are undoubtedly the main cog in Gravity's wheel, without them it wouldn't go round. Just give em a pat on the back every now and again.

Oh! Here's another firework waiting to go off. At this moment in time we are working very closely with Dragon Quad Racing (a new club up in North Wales) to try and promote a 4 round UK Cross Country Championship (as I said earlier we have some very talented riders.) primarily we are looking at the Youth 100/125 and 200/250. But who knows, why don't we involve the adults as well (Anybody seen the GNCC on Sky).

Tazz sports will be sponsoring all of our events, hoping to produce some live coverage and also edited DVD's for sale. So that's a bit about what we hope to achieve for the new season, you keep coming and I'll put it on.

Just a couple of little grumbles: litter and rubbish, please take it home, I don't want it! Also, parents please bring in the completed parental agreement form to every meeting. Apart from that it's great being at the helm of a very friendly, helpful and sociable club where so many people have a lot of fun!

Keep getting dirty at the weekend,
Steve

NB: New memberships will be due soon. Completed forms and fee's brought to an event soon please. Transponders will need to be re-programmed for Round 1.
End of season presentation evening, I need names and numbers of those coming along with all monies 2 weeks before April 26th. You will then receive a ticket.

Good luck for 2008!
